Winter Workouts for Busy Mums (including childminding) - Session 2

Description:
Don’t go into hibernation this winter! Join personal trainer Sue Nixon of VitalSelf Fitness and maintain your fitness during the winter months. Enjoy an outdoor workout while your little one is cared for in the cosy comfort of our HEATED Learning Centre. Your baby will be at arms’ reach while you increase your fitness and regain core strength.
Get your Mothers Group together or come along on your own to meet new friends!
This 4 week program (Session 2) runs on four consecutive Thursdays: 19 Aug, 26 Aug, 2 Sep and 9 Sep You can book in to all four sessions or book individual dates.
Training will be held from 9.00 am–10.00 am.
Session 1 runs from on Thursday 17 June for 4 consecutive Thursdays.

Dog Obedience Training

Description:
Run by Eastern Suburbs Dog Training Club. Learn to teach your dog basic to competition level obedience. Handlers must be over 13 years and dogs over 3 months and fully vaccinated.
Runs most Sundays (excluding some dates around school holidays and public holidays) from 8.00 am - 11.00 am
Kids Fun at CP Dining

Coast to Coast for Kids

Description:
Centennial Parklands is the celebration location for the end of a 3,000 kilometre charity bike ride from Cooktown to Sydney that raises funding and awareness for the Tumbatin Clinic and the Bonnie Babes Foundation. The event will feature sponsor stalls and activities from 11.00 am-3.00 pm.
The ride starts Friday 13 September from Cooktown. Thirty days later these two riders and their three support crew will arrive in Centennial Park on Saturday September 11.
The public is invited to join in the celebrations at this finale event at Centennial Park to welcome the riders home after their extraordinary journey.

Spotlight Prowl

World Parks Day at Centennial Park

The third global World Parks Day will be celebrated on Saturday 18 September 2010. World Parks Day highlights the importance and the role of parks and public open space in the everyday lives of the community.
So come to Centennial Parklands to experience and enjoy all that this wonderful space has to offer. Centennial Parklands will be putting on a range of fun family activities and exhibitions where you can talk to our staff.
Free pony rides, face painting, Zoomobile, ranger programs, dog training exhibitions, carp fishing activities and a whole lot more.
Join us in the Paperbark Grove (off Parkes Drive opposite Centennial Parklands Dining) from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm.
Sydney Running Festival

Celebrate the 10th anniversary of this Sydney Olympics legacy event. The Sydney Running Festival includes four separate events: Full Marathon (coming through Centennial Park), Half Marathon, 9 km Bridge Run and 4 km Family Fun Run.
All roads and vehicle gates in Centennial Park will be closed on the day until approximately 12.00 noon.

Golden Oldies World Rugby Festival 2010

Centennial Parklands is proud to host the 18th Air New Zealand Golden Oldies World Rugby Festival 2010. This event is the world’s biggest rugby Festival and is returning for the second time to Sydney.
Organisers expect up to 5,000 participants from 17 countries, with almost as many support staff, family and friends coming to Sydney.

Description: Starting on Monday 27 September and running for two weeks, families can visit and learn all about ducklings starting at Double Bay Central Library. Children can watch these adorable ducklings hatch, feed and grow all while listening to wonderful stories. This event will be hosted with the help of Centennial Parklands Rangers. Craft included and all ages are welcome.

Description: Come and discover long-legged Ibis, furry little microbats, colourful butterflies and tiny spiders with a Centennial Parklands ranger. Learn how these creatures have adapted with their environment to form faces a little less than flattering. By examining adaptation and playing some games children will learn just why these creatures look so startling. All children can make their own wacky mask to take home.

Cost includes gear and coaching for this action packed camp where all levels are welcome.

Description: This Spring come and invent a terrifying scarecrow from recycled materials that will keep naughty crows away from the fledgling nursery garden at Centennial Park. Description: Come help our Centennial Parklands ranger find nocturnal animals such as Tawny Frog Mouths, bats, crickets, spiders, birds and possums as they move around and feed at night. Spot their eyes shining in the dark or hear them move around in trees and make weird and wonderful noises. This action packed event includes team games, sizzling sausages and some independent adventure! Drop the kids off and enjoy a quite dinner or date night.
