Centennial Parklands Education Precinct
Welcome to the new Centennial Parklands Education Precinct!
The Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust (Trust) has recently opened its new education precinct within Centennial Park for the use of schools, the community and Centennial Parklands volunteers.
This multi-purpose precinct has the ability to cater for schools, community group and adult education usage, the volunteer growing group and is available to lease by service providers.
The Education Precinct has the principles of 'sustainability' and 'recycling' at its core, in fact the Precinct itself is located on the site of an old tip which subsequently became a hardstand surface for events (known as Centennial Square). By locating it in this area the Trust has been able to create a much-needed environmental learning centre without imposing a new built footprint in the Parklands.
Come inside and discover...
- Our Learning Centre - an all-weather multi-function classroom and community-use space
- Our Discovery Garden - a space that provides both demonstration opportunities and hands-on experiential gardening and recycling activities
- Our Community Nursery - a fully-operational plant propagation facility for the use of volunteers, students and community groups
Where is the Education Precinct?
The Education Precinct is located on the site of what was previously known as Centennial Square, off Dickens Drive and adjacent to Fly Casting Pond.
