Moore Park Golf

Looking across Moore Park Golf to city

Moore Park Golf course is the closest golf course to the Sydney CBD.

Being less than a 10 minute drive from the heart of the city, Moore Park Golf features a 18-hole Group One Championship Public Golf Course, 60-bay all-weather driving range, dining and refeshment facilities, conference and wedding venues and a whole lot more.

Moore Park Golf was the venue for the 2006 NSW Golf Open and hosts regular competitions and championships.

Visit the Moore Park Golf website for all the latest information and online tee time booking opportunities.

A dual public and members course

Moore Park Golf is one of Australia's most popularly visited courses with a range of opportunities for the general public and members alike.

History of the course

The course was officially opened as a 9-hole course on 24 May 1913 – with the additional nine holes being added almost a decade later. The historic Golf House was opened over a decade later on 19 June 1926.

Course layout alterations and extensions are made throughout the 1930s and 1940s to accommodate the development of the E.S. Marks Athletics Field and other private developments along course boundaries.

In 1963, the course was chosen as the venue of the NSW Open Championship - held to commemorate the City of Sydney 175th Anniversary.

Management of the course was transferred to the Centennial Park & Moore Park Trust in 1990, and a total reconstruction of the Golf Course was undertaken in 1991.

There have been a range of ongoing improvements and upgrades to the course in latter years, and in 2006 the course once again hosted the NSW Golf Open.

Today, the course remains one of Australia's most popularly visited courses - retaining its status as a dual membership and public access course.
