Planning Documents
The Trust has established a comprehensive planning framework to guide its future direction and decision-making processes for Centennial Parklands.

The State Plan: A New Direction for NSW, released in November 2006, sets out the priorities for Government action over the next 10 years. The Plan includes 34 priorities and 60 targets designed to deliver better services and improve accountability across the public sector.
The Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust aims to ensure its planning documents and strategies align with the priorities of the NSW State Plan.
The Trust's main planning documents are:
- The Plan of Management 2006-2016: a 'big picture' planning document for all of Centennial Parklands. It sits above and guides the development and implementation of other plans and strategies.
- Corporate Plan 2007-2010: sets out the Trust’s mission, goals and values for the Parklands and identifies priorities, strategies and key actions aimed at meeting its immediate obligations, while further enhancing its environmental, social and economic performance into the future.
- Conservation Management Plan: is the principal document from which conservation management policies for the Parklands will be drawn.
- Tree Master Plan: sets out principles and strategies for conserving the existing tree population, providing a framework for sensitively integrating new plantings into the Parklands' historic fabric.
From time to time the Trust prepares other plans and strategies to address specific issues within Centennial Parklands. The following is a general guide to the differences between these plans:
- Master Plans: often design-based documents for particular sites and are generally prepared by architects or landscape architects with specialist input on particular issues.
- Management Plans and Strategies: deal with a particular issue and are prepared by specialists in those fields.
